Don’t Touch Me Campaign

With the frequent incidents of child sexual abuse lately in Egypt, Tadwein for Gender Studies launched the campaign titled “Don’t Touch Me”. The main aim of the campaign was to raise awareness on the issue of sexual child abuse and how to deal with children subjected to this crime.

“Harvest Season” Campaign

Tadwein for Gender Studies has launched the “Harvest Season” campaign during the school vacation in four governorates namely Qalubiyah, Behira, Fayoum, and Giza. The main aim of the campaign was to decrease the chances of young girls being circumcised during school vacations. This campaign targeted all community members of different age groups with a special focus on women, men, youth, teachers, parents, and school children.

World Day against Trafficking in Persons

The United Nations General Assembly has designated July 30 as the World Day against Trafficking in Persons. This year Tadwein for Gender Studies launched an awareness raising campaign celebrating the World Day against Trafficking in Persons through all its social media outlets and website. The campaign contained various illustrations and posts reflecting the main concept, types of human trafficking and the national law related to it.

Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Health Caravans

Tadwein for Gender Studies organized health caravans in several governorates aimed to raise awareness about female genital mutilation. The caravans were usually accompanied by the provision of several medical examinations and laboratory investigations. These included testing of blood sugars, blood pressure measurements, examination of osteoporosis, eye screenings, and early detection of breast cancer. Health Caravans were conducted in 3 governorates.

She is Intact Campaign

On the 14th of June, Tadwein for Gender Studies launched a campaign “She is Intact” celebrating the National Day against Female Genital Mutilation in Egypt. The campaign aimed to raise community awareness and shed light on the fact that all girls are born intact, untouched and healthy in body and mind.

What`s new

Gender Equality Training: Consultative Meeting

On the 20th of April 2022, Tadwein for Gender Studies held a consultative meeting with local partners and activists in the gender field to discuss the content of the online training course on “Gender Equality”. As the training is designed to be delivered through a digitalized platform “El-Madrasa”, the meeting also discussed how to maximize the usage of this platform to raise awareness and disseminate knowledge about the different GBV issues in and outside Egypt.

Part of the incentive for IWD came when thousands of women took to the streets in New York City to demonstrate against the unreasonable conditions of women in the clothing industry. Violence among Young People in Poor Areas in Greater Cairo Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

A total of 3285 households participated in the study that took place in 22 areas in Greater Cairo. The main aim of this study is to identify the various types of violence among young people in poor Greater Cairo, in order to inform and influence preventive strategies.
