Violence among Young People in Poor Areas in Greater Cairo: Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) Study: Dissemination Conference
On the 17th of February 2022, Tadwein for Gender Studies organized an online conference to present the study findings on FGM. Through this virtual meeting, a number of experts were brought together to discuss the study results. These namely were:
- Shereen El Feki, Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) at UNAIDS
- Ann-Marie Wilson, Founder of 28 Too Many, a leading NGO in the global fight against FGM
- Omaima El-Gibaly, Professor of Public Health at Assiut University
- Vanja Berggren, Associate Professor of Public Health at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden
- Mona El-Naggar, NY Times correspondent in Egypt, moderated the meeting.
