Women’s Rights Online Network
Tadwein is a member of the “Women’s Rights Online” network, a research and advocacy network that aims to empower women online and reduce the digital gender gap.
As part of the network’s activities, Tadwein conducted a study on Egyptian women’s use of the internet and the barriers and threats they face. The study included 1,000 people from low-income urban areas in Helwan, Giza, and Qalyubia, including 750 women and 250 men, aged 18 to 60.
Tadwein also contributed to a report on the digital gender gap and produced a short film about women’s experiences using the internet. The study results were released in December 2016 as part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
