Child Marriage in Egypt: Determinants and Consequences

The study aims to contribute to the existing literature body on the impact of child marriage on development in Egypt. The aim of the study was to assist policymakers and relevant entities in better designing policies and interventions aiming to end child marriage in Egypt. The most important results of the study showed that the concept of the vest is one of the strongest motives for child marriage. One of the most important recommendations of the study is the development of multi-sectoral approaches and partnerships, given the multiple consequences of child marriage.

“Her Dream is More Important” Booklet

The illustrative booklet tells the story of four women (who got married at a very young age) that Tadwein for Gender Studies met up with during their fieldwork in Egypt to study Early and Child Marriage. This booklet was executed and printed with the support of the Spanish Cooperation in Egypt.

Tadwein for Gender Studies launched a campaign “Killed Because They Were Women” to shed light on the issue of femicide in Egypt.
