Introduction
Tadwein for Gender Studies organized a series of awareness sessions in four governorates (Giza, Qalyubia, Fayoum, and Behira). The main aim of these sessions was to raise the awareness of community members about female genital mutilation and child marriage definition, complications, and means to combat these harmful traditional practices. These sessions targeted boys and girls 15 and 18 years old. Each session included 20 participants.
Fayoum Governorate: Sinnuris Center- Kafar Fazarah Village
The trainer has conducted two awareness sessions targeting women and young girls on the harmful impacts of female genital mutilation, child marriage. The sessions were conducted on the 19th of July 2023 in Kafar Fazarah Village, Sinnuris Center in Fayoum Governorate.
Al Qalyubia Governorate (Al Qanater Al Khayreya – Al Akhmeen)
On June 10th, 2023, at the Qanater Charity Center in Qalyubia Governorate, the trainers organized four sessions to raise awareness about the concept and negative effects of female genital mutilation and child marriage. The sessions were aimed at women, men, girls and young boys within a specific age group.
Fayoum Governorate(Atsa)
Four awareness sessions were conducted on the 20th of August 2022, at the Atsa center.
Fayoum Governorate (Sinnuris Center)
Four awareness sessions were conducted on the 19th of August 2022, at the Snores Center.
Giza Governorate (Atfeh center)
Four awareness sessions were conducted on the 11th of August 2022, at Atfeh, in the Atfeh center.
Behira Governorate (Al-Abadeia)
Four awareness sessions were conducted on the 31st of July 2022, at Al-Abadeia, in the Damnhour center.
Behira Governorate (Abu Humous)
Four awareness sessions were conducted on the 30th of July 2022, at the Abu Humous Center.
Al Qalyubia Governorate (Al Qanatir Al Khayriyyah – Abou El-Gheit)
Four awareness sessions were conducted on the 22nd of July 2022, at the Abou El-Gheit Community Development Association, in the Al Qanatir Al Khayriyyah Center.
Community Awareness Raising Sessions on the Dangers of Female Genital Mutilation
A conference was held at the “El Aamal” association in El Giza governorate, on August 21, 2019, and was attended by 30 women from Guziret El Dahab and Saqyet Mekki.
The workshop was carried out in collaboration with the “General Union Against Harmful Practices Against Women and Children” as a part of the Anti-FGM Task Force.
Two workshops were held on October 1 2020 to raise awareness about the dangers of female genital mutilation in Qais village in El Minya governorate. Each workshop was attended by 20 women, who have daughters/ granddaughters aged 6 to 12 years old.
Two workshops were held on October 2 2020 to raise awareness about the dangers of female genital mutilation in El Barsha village in El Minya governorate. Each workshop was attended by 20 women who have daughters/ granddaughters aged 6 to 12 years old.
Two workshops were held on September 18 2020 to raise awareness about the dangers of female genital mutilation in Geragos village in El Minya governorate. Each workshop was attended by 20 women who have daughters/ granddaughters aged 6 to 12 years old.

Awareness Workshop to Combat FGM
Tadwein for Gender Studies held training courses for organizations to combat harmful practices against women and children, in order to raise awareness about the crime of FGM and its emotional, social, and health effects on girls and women, at The Serious Work Association, located in Giza Governorate in Sakiyat Mekki and Jazirt Al Dahab.
