Documenting and Analyzing Cases of Femicide from October 2021-October 2022
This study aims to shed the light on cases of femicide in Egypt through the documentation
and the analysis of cases published in local press during the period between October
2021 and October 2022.
The study objectives are to:
1. Provide an estimate of the prevalence rate of femicide in Egypt.
2. Identify the main perpetrator of the majority of femicide cases.
3. Examine the drivers of femicide in Egypt.
4. Examine reports on femicide cases and provide data on the socio-demographic
characteristics of both perpetrators and victims, method of death, geographical location,
and others.
