A training session was held to train field coordinators in leadership and communication skills, gender-based violence, and psychological support

Tadwein Center for Gender Studies organized a training course from October 30 to November 4, 2023, at the Volunteer Center in Giza Governorate. The training session was attended by 15 participants. The training was divided into three main sections. The first section included training participants in a set of fundamental skills such as leadership, communication, and facilitation. The second section addressed gender-based violence (GBV) by defining the concept, discussing its forms such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriage, and exploring its impact on the psychological health and rights of victims. While the third section of the training course trained participants in providing psychological and social support during emergencies and the fundamentals of psychological first aid.

Ramadan Sexual Harassment Campaign


Tadwein for Gender Studies launched “Ramadan Sexual Harassment” campaign in an attempt to shed light on the violations and harassment against women and girls in the streets during the holy month of Ramadan. During the month of Ramadan, women and girls are subjected to verbal harassment. Perpetrators use phrases of a religious nature in order to stigmatize women and abuse them just because they are in public.

Stop the Myth Campaign

As more than half of the Egyptian population still supports the continuation of the crime of female genital mutilation and poor societal awareness towards the issue, Tadwein for Gender Studies launched, in conjunction with the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, a campaign titled “Stop the Myth”. The campaign aimed to clarify the facts behind the major myths about FGM in Egypt.

Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Health Caravans

Tadwein for Gender Studies organized health caravans in several governorates aimed to raise awareness about female genital mutilation. The caravans were usually accompanied by the provision of several medical examinations and laboratory investigations. These included testing of blood sugars, blood pressure measurements, examination of osteoporosis, eye screenings, and early detection of breast cancer. Health Caravans were conducted in 3 governorates.

Her dream is more important

Tadwein Center for Gender Studies has launched a campaign on social media from November 25 to December 10, 2020, entitled #Her Dream is More Important. The campaign sought to spread awareness messages about the emotional, physical, social and economic harms of child marriage. The campaign was launched in the global Sixteen Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
