In an attempt to contribute to the efforts on eliminating gender-based violence in Egypt, Tadwein for Gender Studies implemented a 2 phased project targeting 9 governorates. The project aimed to sensitize young adolescents in targeted governorates about the concept of gender and gender related issues.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Phase 1<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n

During the first phase of the project, Tadwein for Gender Studies developed a comprehensive manual on the concept of gender highlighting the issue of gender-based violence among adolescents in Egypt. 95 youth educators in Cairo, Sohag, Assiut, and Port Said were trained on the content and use of the manual who then trained 265 adolescents on GBV.<\/p>\n

During the second phase, the manual was further refined and edited to better tailor the target groups. 266 educators were trained on the developed manual, these included facilitators from the Syrian community and church volunteers. 244 adolescents and 140 peers from Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Qena, Sohag, Assuit, Minya, Beni Suef, Canal governorates, and Port Said were reached in this second phase.<\/p>\n
