{"id":11742,"date":"2018-06-26T14:59:48","date_gmt":"2018-06-26T14:59:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tadwein.org\/?p=3766"},"modified":"2025-10-07T09:58:04","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T09:58:04","slug":"fgm-is-not-an-honor-conference-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tadwein.org\/en\/fgm-is-not-an-honor-conference-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Round Table: FGM is not an Honor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Since the death of the 13-year-old girl\u201d \u201cBodour\u201d on June 14, 2007, after undergoing FGM, this day has been chosen as a national day for combating FGM in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">On the 14<sup>th<\/sup> of June 2018, the Anti-FGM Task Force announced the organization of a conference under the name \u201cFGM is not an honor\u201d to be conducted on the 26<sup>th<\/sup> of June 2018. A number of research papers on FGM were presented and discussed. These included legal deficiencies and cultural and social challenges.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The first session of the conference discussed a research paper on the cumulative efforts of civil society in combating FGM and discussed the national strategies and efforts to combat FGM.
